these drawings all began as automatic markings made in the dark whilst in bed either asleep or dreaming, as with the month long fully automatic nightwork project whatever was found to be recorded on the page in the morning on awakening was a complete surprise; i’d had no idea whatsoever what occurred during the night. unlike with the other nightwork project rather than leave the automatic markings as they were found i decided to use them as the foundation for additions of oil pastels, letraset transfers and collage. here are the results.
